"Buggers and Suckers" at prestigious contemporary drama festival in Wiesbaden

Spectacle Buggers and Suckers by SkRAT Theatre will be performed on Saturday 16th June 2012 at the most respected European festival of contemporary drama "Neue Stücke aus Europa" (New Plays from Europe) in Wiesbaden, Germany. From 1992 (known as the Bonner Biennale until 2002) discovered many authors, who have since then gained recognition and whose plays now frequent the play lists of the theatres. Furthermore, the festival has helped promoting exciting new directors, theatres and theatre groups. European playwrights who have been discovered by the festival include Biljana Srbljanovic, Wassiliy Sigarew, Dejan Dukovski, Jon Fosse, Enda Walsh, Jewgeni Grischkowjez, Werner Schwab, Yasmina Reza and many more.

In artistic conception of Tankred Dorst, one of the most internationally renowned and most frequently staged German playwrights, the SkRAT Theatre will be introduced in a companion of troupes from 25 countries among 31 new plays.

Slovakia will be represented at this festival for the fourth time in its history: in 1994 Slovak National Theatre suceeded with a play Čistka / The Purge by Ladislav Mňačko in direction of Peter Mikulík, in 1996 it was Stoka Theatra with spectacle Eo Ipso in direction of Blaho Uhlár and last time in 2004 the Alexander Duchnovič Theatre with a play Perón / A Platform by Miloš Karásek.

Performance Buggers and Suckers in direction of Dušan Vicen was created in authorial collaboration with performers (Vít Bednárik, Ľubo Burgr, Lucia Fričová, Daniela Gudabová, Milan Chalmovský and Romana Maliti). Since its premiere on February 11th, 2011 it was performed at festival Divadelná Nitra, Víkend atraktívneho divadla in Zvolen, festival Setkání/Stretnutie in Zlín and at Nová dráma/New drama 2011, where it achieved the Student Jury Prize. It is regularly played at SkRAT domestic scene in A4 - Zero Space in Bratislava.
